Mae Hope Edwards

Meet baby Mae.

She was born December 20th (Nana's bday) at 12:33am.

She weighed 9.1 pounds and was 20.5 inches

Since she's the size of a 3 month old so we've been able to settle down to a "new normal" way of life pretty easily. We skipped the typical newborn stage of life; eating, crying and pooping every hour. She eats well, sleeps pretty well and doesn't seem to mind the loud chaos that flows through our house all day.

Avila adores her. She has her "babies" with her at all times. Anytime I do anything for Mae, Avila is right behind me with her babies. We've bathed, fed and changed diapers on everyone of them multiple times.

Emma noticed there is a new creature in the house, but isn't that intersted. Pretty sure she would have rather had a new puppy.

And as our Christmas tradition goes we have sick kiddos on Christmas Eve. Emma has a sinus infection and a double ear infection. Avila has croup (cough, fever, and labored breathing). Let's pray Mae doesn't want to join in on our tradition this year.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Happy Birthday Daddy

Rainy day fun

The past week has felt like summer here in Ventura, but we did have a few cold and rainy days a few weeks ago.

Avila loves the rain.....

Actually, it may not be the rain she loves as much as it is the special rain coat and boots she gets to wear. Any sign of rain and she runs to her closet for her "special rain clothes". Still can't believe Blair and I have such a girly girl. So fun.

Emma on the other hand is not a fan of rain. This is the only shot where she dared to get off the porch. It's actually not even raining in this picture, which is why she decided to get down and show off for a second. My guess...... Emma is not the fashionista of the family. Rain means more clothes to wear, and more clothes means less time to chase, tackle and "love on" poor Brewer.

Busy, busy, busy. Off to go for a walk. Her baby likes the rain too apparently.

Happy Pre Halloween

Well it's still a couple days until Halloween, but I thought I would give the girls a little practice "begging" for candy. Avila being the spirited girl that she is walked up and down the sidewalk downtown waving and smiling at every person who passed by. The stores were open late tonight giving out candy to trick-or-treaters. Avila walked into every store, flashed a big grin and said the magic words "trick-or-treat!". Emma on the other hand used every bit of sign language and grunting to express how bad she wanted candy too. One store owner gave them each at least 10 pieces of candy each just because she loved carrying on a conversation with Avila. I'm learning she will talk to anyone about ANYTHING if candy is involved.

We made it home with a good amount of candy. Avila and Emma each got to eat 2 pieces, while mommy got to eat 2 for her, 2 for the new baby and .......... yes I even ate 2 for Brewer. The night is still young and Blair is on a fishing trip. Maybe I'll have to eat a few for the cats too. I can't forget about the cats.

Finally

So I'm not super computer savvy, so it took a few months to figure out how to download pictures on the iPad and blog using it too. Apparently google and apple are not friends so switching everything saved on google from the iPad took some effort.

This is my first attempt at blogging with the iPad, so...........

Testing.......testing, 123 testing!

We'll start a few months back.

Emma loves beans and cheese. Full fists them into her mouth like she hasn't eaten in weeks. Honestly, she eats every 30 minutes or so. Not sure where she puts it all!

They both love to paint. Avila was actually singing with joy that Uncle Stephen and Auntie Megan sent Emma paint for her birthday.

The beloved playhouse. Avila spends most of her day here talking to her imaginary friends, her babies, the dog and Emma. She is the mom...always. Emma is pretty much Avila's shadow. If Avila's baby needs a nap, so does Emma's, if Avila's baby goes for a walk so does Emma's. They are quite the pair.

We do A LOT of dancing in the house. It's one of the first things Avila wants to do when she wakes up.
6:40am Eat.... Check
6:45am Call Nana to say good morning... Check
6:50am Get dressed up..... Check
7:00am Music on.... Check
7:01am "mommy, come dance with me."

Camping in Carpinteria..... Spur of the moment camping. Park next-door was awesome.

Camping/hiking in the Sequoia National Park. One of my favorite places in the world. This year we had a hike-in campsite right next to an amazing waterfall. Beautiful. Lots of hikes. Saw 4 deer (Bambi), 4 bears (2 of which were babies), and more other forest animals than I can name. Last time I got to wear my baby backpack...baby #3 seemed to have a growth Sputnik after this trip. (barely 6 months pregnant here)

More pics and stories to come.

Piglet #2

Piglet #2

Emma eats every meal as if it might be her last.

She prefers "real food" over most baby foods. Chili beans, bananas, and chicken are on her top favorite list.

She is a constant delight. Loves her sister. Smiles all the time.

So thankful for our girls.
