When daddy's away the girls will play

While daddy was camping with the boys we started our girl weekend with a little visit to the Plahn pool. Avila wasn't sure about the swimming pool, but she loved laying out in her robe.

Water Baby!!

Today was our 2nd attempt at playing in the pool. I know what you're all thinking - she's only 4 months. I know, but it was a hot day and mom wanted to have an excuse to get a tan and play in the water. The first attempt was last week and the water was straight from the hose and definitely to cold for her taste. Today the pool had sat in the sun all day and was as warm as a bath by this afternoon.

She loved floating in her bumbo chair (not a true flotation device, but it did a good job) playing with her toys while mom enjoyed laying out by the pool.

All in all it was a great day! Pool day was a success for both of us! Many more will follow, trust me!

4 months old

She is so stinkin cute (I know I'm bias). Who would have thought a 4 month old could be so fun, but I enjoy her more and more each day. She is obsessed with grabbing everything mommy and daddy are holding. She loves my little cell phone and the TV remote the best. Probably because we are holding them and their both shiny. She also loves to chew on her bib and clothes. I think she must be starting to teethe because the drool just pours out like a fountain (not one of her more attractive qualities). And her favorite thing is when people make noise and bite her arm. She laughs and laughs. I'm not sure why she thinks that's fun, but she is my daughter which has given her a few strange qualities already.

almost 4 Months old

We have already begun teaching her to have a love for God's Word.

The Bube Tube

Well she's 4 months old and already she is tuned into pop culture. Here she is preparing for her American Idol audition and Baby Einstein appearance. We always said we wouldn't have her watch TV, but she's a huge fan of a few shows. She LOVES music - so Baby Einstein and American Idol are her favorites. Ellen is also a favorite. We watch it everyday while she's eating lunch with Auntie Brynne. I have never seen a baby mesmerized for an hour with a TV show - leave it to my daughter to love TV!

Naked truth

So we have realized that our daughter is the most happy when she's naked! It doesn't matter what the temperature is outside she goes from crying to giggles when she's running around the house in her birthday suit + diaper. Blair is already imagining the talks we will have to have with her about modesty. But for now we enjoy the silliness that naked time brings out in her. Bath time around here is looked forward to by both Blair and I because her smile and giggles are most contagious then. I keep thinking it can't get better than this, but I know it will. But for now I'm content to be where I'm at; loving every minute of being a mom. Thankful that I have a healthy, smiley little girl. We'll deal with the modestly talk later.

Blowing Bubbles

I don't refer to it as drooling yet, although she can soak through an entire outfit in less that an hour. Blowing spit bubbles is the new favorite past time of my little Avila. I thought spit bubbles were reserved for little boys, but from this picture you can see that little girls enjoy it as well. Spit, drool (yes I said it - drool) and all I still think she is the cutest little baby ever!
